Here's Yao, my newest concept for a jedi character for a one shot RPG game by . Yeah, he is a dug and some of you may wonder how a dug could became a jedi since they are so aggressive and angry and, well, mean...
Actually he is an experiment, if I can say so, by an eccentric Jedi Master who thought it would be an interesting idea to try and train a dug with the art of the Force (at least, that would be funny)
It kind of worked, though. ^_^
Will probably in color soon, so the sketches will move to scraps eventually.
Well done on the anatomy! I've been wanting to draw my dug character forever, but I can't seem to nail thier strange body shape! A dug jedi, eh? That IS eccentric! looked like it worked, though!
I love how you've expanded the horizons of the star wars universe. Just because a species has a bad temperament doesn't mean they can't be force sensitive--heck, it probably made this guy a better pod-racer (which is what most Dugs are, according to this: [link] ) before the jedi who "discovered" and trained him came along.
Also, this is the first time I've seen a Dug in all four limbs, "going quad", but I hear they do it often up in the trees of their home planet of Malastarrre.
And I just wanted to add that I absolutely LOVE that facial expression in the first pose with the light saber pointing straight up. You simply nailed a "What are you looking at?" expression for the Dug species.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
